We recently had a night in Madrid and one of the things we did was a walking food tour which we s starting to become a tradition when we go abroad. It's such a great way to see a city and taste small bites of food that we wouldn't normally try.

However, it was a poor start as I unfortunately had my first experience with tripe. I wasn’t a fan of this! Way too fatty and slimy, the only redeeming factor was the chickpeas and tomato based sauce which was pleasant. Then for the first and probably last time I tried shark. It was possibly the best fish dish I have ever had. It was really meaty and juicy and seasoned so well.

We moved on next to a bustling seafood and red wine specialist restaurant where surprisingly we had seafood and red wine. We had these garlic shrimp which were bathing in a hot pool of garlic oil. I was a bit too eager and burnt my tongue.  It was worth it!

I would definitely recommend this it was brilliant.
