We've been in Sardinia for the weekend visiting my Mum's family. She is from Australia and my Uncle Matt is her brother. Matt is married to my Aunty Cinzia who is from Sardinia. My cousins Alessio and Alba were there too. Not surprisingly the food was unbelievable- lots of fresh fish, pasta, pizza and gelato! We had this fresh fish caught that day at a local restaurant- it's a sea bream or orata as they call it here. It was simply grilled on the bone and was lovely. We had it with a traditional caprese salad of tomatoes, mozzarella and basil. This dish was created to have the colours of the Italian flag. I've had it before but here it's so much nicer as the local tomatoes are so ripe and juicy. We had such a great couple of days.
