Afternoon tea at Ham Yard Hotel - and A Levels are done!

My Grandma Wez is over from Australia at the moment and to treat her and celebrate the end of my A Levels we went to Ham Yard Hotel for afternoon tea. The Ham Yard Hotel is right in the centre of Soho in London. I’ve never been to afternoon tea before so I didn’t really know what to expect. I wasn’t disappointed!

We started with a selection of delicious finger sandwiches. From the classic cucumber and cream cheese to the smoked salmon with horseradish cream, they were the tastiest sandwiches I’ve ever eaten.

Next was the scones, a classic part of afternoon tea. Ham Yard's scones are served warm with clotted cream and homemade jam. They had strawberry jam, passion fruit and apricot jam and a really light lemon curd.

Last but not least was the assortment of pastries and sweets that follow. From fancy decorated cakes to lovely macarons and creamy tarts, each dessert was a work of art. They tasted as good as they looked.

Being afternoon tea there was a huge selection of teas and coffees. I don’t really drink tea so I enjoyed a nice glass of English sparkling wine instead!

It was a really nice way to spend a couple of hours and my Grandma enjoyed it. I’d definitely do it again!
