18th birthday celebration


For my 18th birthday this year I got to go to my first 3 Michelin star restaurant, Core. We were lucky enough to get seats right in front of the kitchen and see the chefs at work. It was very intriguing watching them working so hard and so quickly. We started with scallop tartar which I was originally dubious about, however it was fantastic. Some basil oil paired with it wonderfully. Then for main was possibly one of the greatest dishes I have ever had, a miniature baked potato. It had been cooked slowly for 48 hours and was in a chicken based sauced. It was so simple yet so delicious. Finally the dessert was a toffee apple cake. It was plated as an apple but on the inside was a toffee based cake. Definitely up there with the best restaurants I have ever been to.
